Every good design has a good story. My client Voltaic had a good story. They are a startup passionate about providing sustainable home improvement services to their customers. But as an upcoming brand, they needed a good design that would encapsulate their brand and bring in interested customers.
Voltaic had a clear and concise message : sustainable energy. Yet their industry and competitors all presented examples that would confuse new users. The challenge was to deliver their brand in a clean, stylish, modern design. My first project was to design their branding and then their website.
For this project, I researched the clean energy industry and prepared a few mockups. From the design sketch to the polished interface every decision was made with purpose. The Voltaic logo presents energy and growth for which I used the lightning bolt imagery with a gentle leaf motif.
The colour palette is deeply inspired by the natural light during dusk and dawn. Yellow and gray mirror the playfulness of light and darkness and create strong brand imagery.
My goal was to make the user experience on Voltaic's website as easy as it is to switch to clean, sustainable energy.
Every section provided users important information in easily understandable format with clear call to action buttons.
The new website was an instant success. Bringing in a 60% rise in user inquiries and making Voltaic's online presence stronger. The website became a way for the users to have an open dialogue with the brand.
Designing for Voltaic was really special as I got to design for a sustainable future as well. The success of the website also proves how good design can solidify an up and coming brand's digital image.
